Stratum Bespoke Sàrl, trading as Stratum Design ("Stratum", "we", "us"), operates stratumdesign.ch. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It is written in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies to you, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to do so.
What we collect
Data you give us. When you use our contact form or write to us, we collect your name, email address, the product or project you refer to, and the content of your message. If a project moves forward, we may also hold your postal address, telephone number, project site details, and information relating to your commission, quotation, delivery and invoicing.
Data collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and analytics tools record technical information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
We do not seek to collect sensitive personal data, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Why we use it
We use personal data to reply to enquiries and correspond with you about a possible commission; to prepare quotations, carry out and deliver work, and provide after-sales support; to keep the accounting and tax records Swiss law requires us to keep; and to understand how the site is used and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: your request and our legitimate interest in responding to it; performance of a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; and, for non-essential cookies and analytics, your consent.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The site uses cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for it to function. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure our advertising. These technologies set cookies and may transmit data, including your IP address, to Google.
Where consent is required, non-essential cookies are set only after you have given it. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings — parts of the site may then work less well.
The site embeds content from Instagram (Meta Platforms). When that content loads, Instagram may receive your IP address and set its own cookies, subject to Meta's own privacy policy.
Who we share it with
We share personal data with service providers acting on our instructions: our website host and domain registrar, our email provider, our analytics and advertising providers, and our accountant. Where a project requires it, we may share relevant details with subcontractors, delivery and installation partners, and the architect or interior designer working with you.
Some of these providers are established outside Switzerland, including in the European Union and the United States. Such transfers take place either to countries recognised by the Swiss Federal Council as providing adequate protection, or on the basis of standard contractual clauses.
We disclose personal data to public authorities only where the law obliges us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 24 months. Client and project records: for the duration of our relationship and for ten years afterwards, as Swiss accounting law requires. Analytics data: as configured in the tool, ordinarily no longer than 14 months.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given.
Write to brian@stratumdesign.ch. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act. We will respond free of charge and normally within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, Switzerland. If the GDPR applies to you, you may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date of last update shown at the top.
